Product Details

The Backland 102 is made for touring days where the downhill matters as much as the approach. Its poplar and caruba Ultra Light Woodcore keeps weight down without making the ski feel insubstantial, while the FreeTour Profile and fiberglass layers add smooth, stable power. At 102mm underfoot, it has enough platform for deeper snow without losing its touring focus. This is a ski for skiers who want to travel farther uphill, then ski with confidence when the terrain opens up.

Powder Rocker combines pronounced tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot, giving the ski a loose, manageable feel in powder, crud, and chop. The HRZN 3D tip adds surface area for float, while the directional shape retains edge contact through the turn. Duracap Sidewalls reinforce the edges from base to topsheet, and the 87° side edge with a 1° base edge is set up for accessible grip and easy turning. Atomic also uses more wood and less fiberglass, metal, and resin than the Backland 100 (2022), reducing material-based CO2e emissions by 26%. A capable choice for big days in variable mountain snow.
