Additional Information

Don't Waste Your Time in the Canadian Rockies by Kathy and Craig Copeland - this is an excellent guide to the best hikes in Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay and Waterton Lakes national parks, plus Mt. Robson and Mt. Assiniboine provincial parks.

138 day hikes and backpacking trips are listed and rated as Premier, Outstanding, Worthwhile or Don't Do. Each trail description includes a frank opinion of the trail, a comprehensive route description and a map.

With more than 250 color photos, this is an indispensable guidebook to the best trails in the Canadian Rockies.

The Opinion book contains all the trip descriptions, and most of the photos. Use it at home, in the car, at the trailhead. It provides everything you need to know to choose your next hike. It's also a compelling read when you're between trips. But leave it behind when you go hiking. The nine Fact booklets contain the trail directions, including the maps. Pack the one booklet you need, so you can refer to it while hiking.

Take pages, not the whole book. Average trail weight: 67 g / 2.4 oz per hike.

The Fact booklets are seriously ultralight, so you can always have the complete trail directions and an orientation map—essential gear!—with you in the backcountry. Finally, a hiking guidebook fit for adventure, not just the armchair.

Awesome new desing! Posted by: AdminStaff This Guidebook offers you some of the best hike in the Rockies. Re-designed with some colorful images, it will inspire you to get out. The best part of it is that it rates the hikes as something that is a 'must do' to the ones you should avoid with explanations why.
This Guidebook come with a hard cover case for protection but also with a series of booklets of the area so you don't have to take the entire book with you when you go hiking.

Excellent resource if you will be spending some time in the Rockies Posted by: Pika1 We do the majority of our hiking and camping in the Rockies so this book was a no-brainer for us. The writers understand what type of information hiking enthusiasts are looking for. Detailed info from average hiking time to elevation gain etc is useful so you can plan out your hiking agenda ahead of time (we like to do one hard hike then an easy one the next day to give our bodies a break). The book is filled with pictures as well which is something I really appreciate. It's our go-to manual when we are planning trips.
