Patagonia’s Women’s R1 CrossStrata Jacket is built as a true in-between layer—warm and breathable like a technical fleece, but with extra abrasion and weather resistance when conditions turn. It’s the piece I reach for on cool mountain days when you want one jacket that can handle movement, airflow, and the odd brush with rock or wet snow.

The lightweight double-weave fabric has a soft, warm feel next to skin without trapping heat, and it’s treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without intentionally added PFAS to shed moisture. The slim fit and stretch patterning are tuned for overhead reach, while the harness- and pack-compatible pockets and low-bulk cuffs and hem keep it comfortable when you’re actually wearing a pack or tying in. It’s made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.
