On the trail, the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX stands out for the balance it strikes. There’s 30% more foam underfoot for better comfort over distance, improved breathability influenced by Merrell’s Test Lab trail running line, and a secure platform with a heel counter and full-length rock plate to help keep you composed when the footing gets rough. The Vibram TC5+ outsole brings stronger grip with a new lug design that sheds debris as you move, and the GORE-TEX membrane adds dependable waterproof protection when conditions turn. Merrell also notes these shoes perform well on the golf course, which tracks if you want one pair that can cover more than just the trailhead.
