Katadyn BeFree AC Filter 1.0L is built for day hikes, travel days, and everything in between—thanks to its double-layer flask and compact, packable design. The 2-stage filter delivers clean, great-tasting water wherever you refill, and it’s field cleanable without additional tools.

What I like is the flexibility depending on your water source. If your stream is already clear and tastes good, you can leave out the activated carbon pad for pure taste. If you’re dealing with chlorine taste in tap water, adding the activated carbon pad helps it taste like a fresh mountain stream. The rugged handle and robust flip cap make it practical when you’re on the move, and the EZ-Clean Membrane™ lets you shake or swish away debris to keep performance up.
