The North Face Clyffe Slip-On Shoes are built for the space between performance footwear and everyday sneakers. They have the easy on/off convenience of a slip-on, but the shape and construction are clearly aimed at time around the crag, with a sleek low-profile midsole designed for climbing, a climbing zone in the toe for smearing and edging, and a protective rand that holds up well when rock and rough ground are part of the day.

The soft nubuck-leather upper gives them a comfortable, casual feel, while the gore stretch tongue helps keep the fit secure and easy to live with. Underfoot, the single-density molded-EVA midsole and 4 mm molded-EVA sockliner keep things comfortable, and the non-marking Vibram Megagrip outsole with 3 mm lugs adds dependable traction on wet and dry surfaces. For anyone who wants one pair that works from town to the base of the route and back again, this is a thoughtful option.
