Monod Sports has been part of Banff since 1949. We’re a family-owned and operated outdoor retailer specializing in the gear, footwear and clothing people need to get outside in the Canadian Rockies.
Our customers range from locals heading out for a quick trail run to visitors planning their first hike, experienced climbers, skiers chasing their next powder day, and people simply looking for a great jacket or pair of shoes. Our job is to help them find the right product and make sure they leave the store feeling good about what they bought.
We’re looking for full-time Retail Sales Associates who enjoy working with people, have a genuine interest in the outdoors, and want to learn more about the products we sell.

Our full-time team works a four-days-on, three-days-off schedule, giving you a 40-hour work week with three days off to ski, climb, hike, bike, run, or do whatever brought you to the Bow Valley in the first place.

What You'll Do
As a Retail Sales Associate, you’re one of the main faces of Monod Sports. You’ll spend most of your day helping customers, learning about products and keeping your department looking its best.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and helping them find what they need
- Asking the right questions to understand how and where a customer plans to use a product
- Providing knowledgeable, honest product recommendations
- Helping customers with sizing and fit for footwear, clothing and equipment
- Building your knowledge across the products and brands we carry
- Processing purchases, returns and other transactions through our point-of-sale system
- Restocking merchandise and keeping the sales floor organized
- Maintaining clean, attractive and well-merchandised product displays
- Completing inventory checks and assisting with inventory accuracy
- Participating in product knowledge sessions and staff training
- Working collaboratively with our sales floor, stockroom and management teams
- Helping create the friendly, knowledgeable customer experience Monod Sports is known for
Who We're Looking For
You don’t need to know everything about every product on your first day. We can teach product knowledge. What matters most is that you’re interested in learning, comfortable talking to people, and willing to take pride in doing the job well.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have a genuine interest in outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, climbing, trail running, camping or mountain sports
- Enjoy talking to people and helping them solve problems
- Are friendly, approachable and confident communicating with customers
- Are curious about outdoor products and interested in continually learning
- Can work well as part of a team
- Are dependable, motivated and comfortable taking initiative
- Pay attention to the details and presentation of your department
- Are available to work weekends and some evenings as part of your regular schedule
Previous retail or sales experience is an asset, but outdoor experience, attitude and willingness to learn are equally important to us.
