 | Nalgene began in Rochester, New York, in 1949 when a chemist, Emanual Goldberg, developed the first plastic pipette holder (not your backpacking water bottle of today)!
In the 1970's, the president of Nalgene, Marsh Hyman, noticed his son liked using the lab bottles for his weekend camping excursions because they were lightweight, durable and did not retain odors. Mr. Hyman went to Nalgene's specialty department and developed the now highly recognizable, highly durable Nalgene water bottles outdoor enthusiasts enjoy today.
In 2008, Nalgene introduced a Bisphenol A free (BPA free) water bottle that you can purchase from Monod Sports' online store.
