As you look through Monod Sports' online store, you may have some questions about the site and products. Below are some questions we've encountered. We hope you find the answers helpful!

What is Monod Sports Return Policy?

How much will shipping be, and how long will it take to get to me?

Does Monod Sports ship outside of Canada or the USA?

Monod Sports does not ship outside of Canada or USA.

How do I know if a product I can see on the website is in stock?

Monod Sports' online store has a "real time inventory" which is updated every 24 hours. Consequently, if you can see and order the product when you select a quantity [and colour], it means we physically have the product in stock.

Some items are offered in multiple colours; sometimes the colour and sizes may still show even though we are sold out of only 1 colour in a particular size. In those cases, when you try to order the sold out product, the system will automatically tell you across the top of the product, in RED, that the product is temporarily out of stock AND/OR you will not see the colour or size you want to order in the drop down boxes when you try to buy.

NOTE: From time to time the inventory count may show an item that we are sold out of. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and you will be contacted immediately to let you know the item is out of stock and either void or refund your credit card immediately.

How do I place an order online?

Will items that are on "sale" on the website, be on "sale in the retail store?

Not necessarily, we do make a note at the beginning of each description when the item is not available for the same price in the retail store. The specific language states: "WEBSITE PROMOTION ONLY: Sale price is not available in retail store."

Can I still get Free Shipping for telephone orders and special orders?

No, Free Shipping only applies to online orders, shipping within Canada.

How do I know my order is "secure"?

Monod Sports is SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certified by VeriSign. VeriSign is the world's leading secure sockets layer (SSL) Certificate Authority enabling secure e-commerce and communications for websites, intranets, and extranets. It is a trusted mark of high assurance for Internet security and enables the strongest SSL encryption available to every site visitor. The SSL Certificate from VeriSign:

• Enables encryption of sensitive information during online transactions
• Contains unique, authenticated information about the certificate owner
• Is issued by a Certificate Authority that verifies the identity of the certificate owner

Consequently, Monod Sports' online store [website] protects any information you relay during "checkout" with an automatic encryption, which is readily identifiable to you, the customer, by a symbol which looks just like a "lock."

The encryption is symbolized by a lock in a box located at the top of your browser [immediately to the right of the URL or address bar] once you begin the checkout process. The lock should be closed to indicate a secure, "locked" connection, which means no one can enter the system.

To insure the highest level of security and to earn the trust of our customers, Monod Sports made the decision to never "receive" any of your credit card information, which means none of your credit card information is ever stored anywhere in our system.

I am a US customer, how much will my order be in US dollars?

You will need to contact your credit card company to see how much they will charge you for the exchange rate on the day you place your order. Because Monod Sports is located in Canada, we conduct all of our transactions in Canadian dollars. Your credit card company will be able to give you their exact exchange rate on any given day.

I am a US customer, how much will I pay in Duty and Taxes?

All duty, taxes and brokerage fees are the sole domain of UNITED STATES Customs, please contact US Customs (link to US Customs) for more information.

I am a US customer, can I get free shipping?

No, Free Shipping only applies to orders shipping to Canadian addresses.

The following ski mounting policy applies to Monod Sports' website purchases only.

When you purchase skis and bindings from www.monodsports.com, the skis and bindings are generally shipped in separate boxes, which would require that you find a sports store and certified binding tech in your area to mount your equipment before being able to go out on the slopes. 

However, if you would prefer to have Monod's mount the bindings to the skis and have it shipped ready to use, we are able to assist.   You will need to let us know "yes" or "no" when we email and ask if you want the skis mounted.

Normal mounting charges for a customer who purchases the bindings and skis from us is $39.95; however, if the skis have a built-in binding system (not all alpine skis have a built in binding system), we do not charge for mounting since we do not need to actually drill into the skis ourselves.  We will let you by email whether there are any mounting charges. 

 However, before we can mount any bindings onto the skis, we will need the following information from you:

(1) The actual boot sole length (the boot sole length is generally found on the outside heel portion of the ski boot and would be a number such as 305)

(2) Your height

(3) Your weight

(4) Your age

(5) Your skier type. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

The sooner we receive the information back from you, the quicker we can get the bindings mounted on the skis for you.  There will be a 1-2 day delay between mounting the skis and being able to physically ship them, depending upon the amount of work our ski shop has at the time.

Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)

Monod Sports is required by the Canadian Government to collect HST, which stands for Harmonized Sales Tax, from the following provinces:  British Columbia (12%), Ontario (13%), New Brunswick (13%),  Newfoundland (13%), and Nova Scotia (15%).   Monod's must do so because the GST, which is a national Canadian tax, is wrapped together with those provinces' PST (Provincial Sales Tax) in the HST (all these acronyms give me a headache!).  Monod's, as an online ecommerce business, is REQUIRED to collect that tax on behalf of the federal government.  Here's a link to the government's website for more information on it:  http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/gst-tps/menu-eng.html.

Monod's website program detects, upon checkout, the province to which the item is being sent and adds the appropriate tax (either GST or HST) accordingly.  You have the opportunity to fully view those taxes before you enter a credit card during the checkout portion.

Monod Sports is not required to collect PST (provincial sales tax), nor does Alberta collect a PST.
